ichi shitei dōroいちしていどうろ

Designated private road

A private road officially designated by the local government so that lots along it satisfy the road-access requirement — typical of small subdivisions. Designation solves the building-permit question but not the ownership one: maintenance and consent issues of a private road still apply.
