Certificate of final inspection
Proof that the completed building passed its final inspection and matches the approved plans. A large share of older houses never obtained one — historically inspection was widely skipped — which can complicate loans, renovations needing new permits, and institutional resale. Its absence is common, but you should know before you buy.
