Leasehold right
The right to own a building on land rented from someone else. Leasehold properties sell at a sharp discount to freehold, but carry ground rent, renewal and rebuilding consent fees, and cautious lenders. Older leaseholds are strongly tenant-protective; still, understand the lease before being tempted by the price.
