Vacant house
An empty or abandoned house — Japan counts over 9 million vacant homes, though only a fraction are truly abandoned. The famous cheap ones typically carry some combination of inheritance tangles, structural decay, non-rebuildable status, or remote location. Some are genuine bargains; the registry, the road, and the zoning tell you which.
