仲介

chūkaiちゅうかい

Brokerage

A sale arranged through an agent, as opposed to buying directly from the owner or developer (売主物件). Whether a listing is chūkai determines whether you pay commission. In Japan one agency frequently represents both sides (両手仲介), collecting commission from each — worth knowing when you assess whose interests your agent serves.
