抵当権

teitōkenていとうけん

Mortgage

A lender's security interest over the property, recorded in Section B. A registered mortgage survives a sale unless it is formally cancelled (抹消登記), so standard practice is for the seller's loan to be repaid and the mortgage released at the closing table.
